The festivals needs to be observed based on local information like local sunrise, sunset,
moonrise, moonset, midnight, madhyahna and various thithi and nakshatra observances rules.
Hence festival dates mentioned in indian calendar cannot be used outside of india.
We present here following table for festivals observance in various parts of worlds.
If you are planning to use it on your website or on your printed materials you can use free of charge,
please mention "source:www.mypanchang.com" somewhere in printed materials or on the website.
General purpose muhurtha: As per Dharmasindhu 4 important days do not require any muhurtham (and the entire day is good) and they are:
- Gudi Padawa / Chaitra Shukla Pratipada (Prathama)/ Ugadi.
- Akshya Tritiya.
- Vijaya Dasami.
- Kartika Shukla Pratipada (Prathama).
So, If you are planning wedding, house warming, starting a new venture, bhoomi poojan or anyother thing, please use following table where they fall in your area and get that date. The entire day is good, however, we recommend to avoid Rahukalam, Yamagandam, Durmurtham, and Gulika Kalam timings.

Note:
The new year 2008 will see real issues about Ugadi specially in India. Ugadi in 2008 depending on where you live in india could fall on April 6th or April 7th. The reason being that is Prathama ends on 6:09 AM on April 7th. Now as per the rule if prathama doesn't prevail during the sunrise or atleast there is no sparasha then we have to celebrate on previous day. Most of cities in India will have sunrise before 6:09 AM in such cases there is no sparasha(touching), so Ugadi will be celebrated on April 6th but some of them still have sparsha as the sunrise in their town will be past 6:09 AM, so Ugadi will be celebrated on April 7th. This means half of the cities in India (including Andhra Pradesh -- Hyderabad on April 6th, Rajahmundry, Vishakhapattanam, Tirumala on April 7th), will celebrate Ugadi on two different days. However, people living in USA/Canada/Europe/Gulf Countries/Pakistan will celebrate on April 6th. However, Australia, Burma, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Fiji, New Zealand will celebrate on April 7th. So, get prepared for another round of Ugadi debate like we had last year in 2007.
